Enterprise Estonia is one of the largest institutions within the national support system for entrepreneurship in Estonia, providing financing products, counselling, co-operation opportunities and training for entrepreneurs, research establishments, the public and third sectors.

Enterprise Estonia actively operates in five areas: the enhancement of the competitiveness of Estonian enterprises in foreign markets, inclusion of foreign direct investments, development of tourism export and internal tourism, elaboration of technological and innovative products and services and the development of Estonian enterprises and entrepreneurial environment and in addition, the enhancement of general entrepreneurial awareness.

Subsequently to the joining of Estonia with the European Union, Enterprise Estonia will become one of the implementing institutions of the EU structural funds in Estonia, being the main provider of support and development programmes, directed towards entrepreneurs.

Enterprise Estonia was founded, by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, in the year 2000 with the aim of promoting the competitiveness of the Estonian entrepreneurial environment and businesses and by way of this, increase the well-being of society.

Enterprise Estonia is also responsible for the national coordination of the EUREKA programme and 6th Framework Programme's "Innovation" and "SME" NCPs.
